PTK Fleet Supports the Smooth Execution of the First Shipment of 1 Million Barrels of Algerian Crude Oil

Cilacap — PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) reaffirmed its strategic contribution to national energy distribution through the provision of marine and offshore support services for the first shipment of 1 million barrels of crude oil from Block 405A, Algeria to Indonesia. The berthing and unloading operations were carried out at the jetty and docking area of Refinery Unit (RU) IV Cilacap, Central Java, serving as a key entry point for strategic supply to support refinery operations and strengthen domestic energy security.

After more than one month of sea voyage from Algeria, the crude oil tanker arrived in Cilacap waters and underwent berthing and cargo transfer operations with marine support services. In this operation, PTK deployed supporting vessels, including Transko Pipit and Transko Kepodang, to assist maneuvering, secure the maritime area, and ensure smooth berthing procedures. These fleet services formed a crucial part of the ship-to-shore interface to ensure that the unloading process was conducted safely, precisely, and in compliance with HSSE standards.

The success of this intercontinental energy distribution highlights that supply reliability depends not only on production and the main carrier vessel, but also on the readiness of marine services at critical berthing points. The preparedness of jetty facilities, pilotage–towage–mooring services, perimeter security, and integrated operational coordination are key links in ensuring crude oil is transferred from sea to refinery systems without disruption. This reliability strengthens the overall resilience of the marine-to-refinery energy supply chain.

The President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental, I Ketut Laba, stated that PTK’s involvement through fleet deployment and marine support services represents the company’s tangible role in ensuring energy is delivered domestically in a safe and timely manner. “The successful berthing and unloading of this strategic imported crude oil cargo demonstrates the readiness of PTK’s marine and port operation support services in handling large-scale and high-risk energy operations. We ensure every stage of energy transfer in maritime areas complies with HSSE standards, supported by prepared personnel, fleet, and integrated safety systems,” he said.

From a business perspective, this operational capability strengthens PTK’s value proposition for existing and prospective clients in the energy and maritime sectors through assured reliability, berthing time efficiency, and operational risk control. Nationally, PTK’s contribution to the smooth execution of this first crude oil shipment directly supports the continuity of refinery production and supply stability for the public. PTK continues to reinforce its position as a key pillar of marine logistics and offshore support services in ensuring energy is delivered safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
