PTK Ensures Vessel Reliability through Operational Excellence via Ramadan Management Walkthrough in Ambon

Ambon — PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) ensured the reliability of its operational vessels in Eastern Indonesia during Ramadan 1447 Hijri through a Management Walkthrough (MWT) at the Integrated Terminal Wayame, Ambon, within the Marine Business Operation Region (MBOR) III Maluku–Papua. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining fleet readiness and service continuity to support smooth energy logistics and economic activities across the archipelagic region of Eastern Indonesia.
PTK President Director, I Ketut Laba, stated that the management visit to the operational site aimed to ensure that occupational safety standards, vessel readiness, and maritime service reliability were maintained at optimal levels, particularly during Ramadan when energy distribution mobility typically increases. “Management is present on-site to ensure that vessel operations run safely and reliably, enabling maritime services to continue supporting community needs, especially in the Maluku and Papua regions. Fleet reliability is key to sustaining social and economic activities,” he said.
He further explained that the geographical characteristics of Eastern Indonesia, which are dominated by archipelagic areas, make sea transportation the backbone of logistics distribution. Therefore, vessel readiness, operational safety, and consistent maritime services are crucial factors in maintaining supply stability and interregional connectivity.
Through the Management Walkthrough, the management team conducted direct observations of operational activities, assessed fleet preparedness, and engaged in open dialogue with frontline personnel to understand on-site challenges. The activity also served as an evaluation platform for the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) principles, as well as for strengthening operational excellence in fleet management and maritime services.
PTK Marketing Director, Albertus Anto Budi S, added that MBOR III plays a strategic role in supporting sea-based logistics connectivity across the Maluku–Papua region. According to him, management’s presence in the field represents direct support for frontline personnel responsible for maintaining vessel reliability and service quality.
In addition to operational evaluations, the visit strengthened engagement between management and employees to foster a safe, productive, and collaborative work culture. The reliability of PTK’s vessels in MBOR III Wayame contributes not only to corporate performance but also to regional economic stability and the smooth distribution of logistics in Eastern Indonesia during Ramadan.
PTK reaffirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening operational excellence and safety culture as part of its ongoing corporate transformation, while supporting Pertamina Group’s mission to deliver reliable, safe, and value-added maritime services to communities and stakeholders.
