PTK Ensures Vessel Reliability and Operational Safety through Management Walkthrough in Batam

Batam — PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) continues to demonstrate its commitment to maintaining the reliability of maritime operations, which serve as one of the key backbones of Indonesia’s national energy distribution. This commitment was reflected through PTK’s participation in the series of Safari Ramadan and Management Walkthrough (MWT) activities led by the President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), held at Shorebase Kabil, Batam. The activity forms part of Pertamina Group’s collective effort to ensure maritime services operate safely, reliably, and are well-prepared to support the energy needs of communities across Indonesia.
The Management Walkthrough was conducted through a direct inspection of the operational area at Shorebase Kabil, one of the important facilities supporting the maritime logistics activities of the Pertamina Group. During the activity, the leadership team reviewed the readiness of shorebase facilities, vessel operations, and the implementation of workplace safety standards in the field. This on-site inspection serves as an essential step to ensure that all operational processes run properly, safely, and in accordance with established standards, enabling energy distribution to various regions to proceed smoothly without disruption.
In addition to reviewing operational facilities, the activity also provided an opportunity for management and operational teams to engage in direct discussions on various aspects that could enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Through this open dialogue, insights and feedback from the field could be directly conveyed to management in order to strengthen the quality of maritime logistics services. These efforts are carried out to ensure that the marine services provided by PTK and the Pertamina Group deliver greater value for customers, the energy industry, and communities that depend on reliable energy availability.
President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping, Surya Tri Harto, emphasized that the direct involvement of management in the Management Walkthrough is a crucial step to ensure all operations comply with established safety and reliability standards. According to him, the success of national energy distribution cannot be separated from the readiness of logistics facilities and maritime operations working behind the scenes. “Through this activity, we aim to ensure that all operational facilities and maritime services within the Pertamina Group operate optimally, enabling them to support safe and sustainable energy distribution for the community,” he stated.
On the same occasion, President Director of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental, I Ketut Laba, conveyed that PTK plays an important role in ensuring that vessels and supporting maritime services for energy operations remain reliable and ready for use. “Through this Management Walkthrough, PTK ensures that every marine service we provide prioritizes occupational safety, operational reliability, and fleet readiness to support customer needs while maintaining the smooth distribution of national energy,” he explained.
The activity also emphasized the importance of implementing HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) in every maritime operational activity. Before entering the operational area, all participants took part in a safety induction and HSSE briefing as a collective commitment to upholding a strong safety culture. The consistent implementation of safety standards not only protects workers and company assets but also provides assurance to customers and business partners utilizing the maritime logistics services of the Pertamina Group.
The synergy between PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), and PT Pertamina Port & Logistics (PPL) during this activity also reflects the strong collaboration within the Pertamina Group in building an integrated maritime logistics system. This synergy is a key factor in ensuring that energy distribution across Indonesia’s archipelagic regions can run more effectively, quickly, and reliably, allowing the energy needs of the community to continue to be fulfilled.
As part of the event series, the Safari Ramadan activity held at Masjid Jami’ul Maghfiroh, Shorebase Kabil also created a warm atmosphere of togetherness between management and workers assigned to the operational area. The event, which included a religious sermon (tausiyah), communal iftar, and friendly gathering, served as a moment to strengthen relationships while fostering a spirit of unity in carrying out company operations responsibly.
Through the Management Walkthrough and Safari Ramadan activities, PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental once again reaffirmed its commitment to delivering reliable, safe, and high-standard marine services. By maintaining the readiness of vessels, operational facilities, and a strong safety culture, PTK continues to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth distribution of national energy so that communities across Indonesia can continue to enjoy stable and sustainable energy availability.
