When Land Access Fails, PTK Crosses the Sea to Deliver Hope and Humanitarian Aid to Sumatra

When land routes leading to disaster-affected areas were completely cut off, PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) once again demonstrated its capability as the backbone of Indonesia’s national maritime logistics services. Through sea routes, PTK deployed operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of humanitarian aid from Teluk Kabung to Sibolga, Sumatra. In this mission, PTK collaborated closely with PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) and PT Pertamina Patra Logistik (PPL), ensuring that assistance reached its destination safely, quickly, and in a well-coordinated manner—even as conditions on the ground demanded extraordinary resilience.

The aid sent included essential supplies for affected communities, such as basic food items, medicines, toiletries, and sanitation equipment collected by PTK, PIS, PPL, and FLEET. All logistics were loaded onto the MT Kasim tanker, which arrived at Teluk Kabung on December 5, 2025. Since the vessel could not dock directly at the pier, PTK carried out a gradual transfer of goods using small boats. This process clearly illustrated the field team’s resilience and determination to keep aid moving—even when land routes were paralyzed and direct access was unavailable.

On December 6, 2025, MT Kasim officially departed from Teluk Kabung, carrying humanitarian supplies for the people of Sibolga. This departure was made possible through the hard work of PTK’s operations team, vessel officers, PPL Mooring Gang, PIS crew, and support from local communities. Throughout the journey, PTK and PIS maintained close monitoring of weather conditions, sailing routes, and distribution efficiency. These efforts ensured that the humanitarian mission met high safety standards and timely delivery—core pillars of PTK’s reliable maritime logistics service.

More than just an emergency response, this humanitarian mission reinforces PTK’s positioning as an Integrated Marine Services company that is adaptive, dependable, and capable of rapid execution in any operational situation.
