The Integrated Marine Logistics Subholding, through PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), has taken strategic action to accelerate recovery efforts following the floods and landslides in Sumatra. With land access completely cut off in the affected areas, PTK ensured that humanitarian aid and volunteer deployment continued through sea routes using the MT Kamojang tanker owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS). This maritime approach has become a vital solution to maintain the flow of assistance to communities in urgent need.
The aid consisted of basic necessities such as food supplies, medicines, toiletries, and sanitation items—essential needs for communities during the emergency response phase. PTK executed the delivery by transferring logistics from land to vessel using small boats, as MT Kamojang could not dock directly at the pier. Despite the challenging process, the transfer was carried out to prevent aid from stagnating onshore and to ensure timely arrival at the disaster locations.
