Synergy of State-Owned Enterprises in Maritime Logistics: PTK and PMT Inaugurate Strategic Green Coke Partnership in Dumai

PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) and PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (PMT) have officially signed a strategic partnership for the transfer and loading services of Green Coke produced by Refinery Unit II Dumai. This SOE synergy strengthens cargodoring and stevedoring activities as key components of the national energy distribution chain, ensuring Green Coke distribution is carried out faster, safer, more efficiently, and more consistently. The agreement also marks a further step in strengthening Indonesia’s energy logistics ecosystem, particularly in supporting domestic supply continuity and export potential.

The collaboration between PTK and PMT is significant as it supports smooth Green Coke distribution flows at Dumai Port, a strategic energy hub that helps reduce potential bottlenecks in port operations. The partnership not only improves supply readiness but also enhances the capacity of the national energy supply chain.

Era Wijaya, General Manager of MBOR I PTK, emphasized the importance of operational alignment between the two companies. “This partnership is a strategic step to ensure the transfer and loading of Green Coke becomes increasingly efficient, safe, and sustainable. This synergy directly contributes to strengthening the national energy supply chain and enhancing Indonesia’s maritime logistics competitiveness,” he said.

PTK’s Director of Operations, Yudi Wibisono, added that the collaboration marks an important momentum for accelerating energy logistics transformation. “This strategic partnership enhances operational reliability, logistics visibility, and HSSE standards across processes. With the integration of PTK and PMT service systems, Green Coke distribution from RU II Dumai can run more efficiently, safely, and in line with international standards. This synergy also supports national energy resilience,” he stressed.

PMT Dumai Branch Manager, Teddi Fadillah, also highlighted the long-term impact of this synergy. “The collaboration between PMT and PTK brings strategic value in enhancing Dumai Port’s capability to handle energy commodities professionally and on time. With stronger integration of cargodoring and stevedoring processes, we ensure speed, accuracy, and safety in loading and unloading activities to support the effectiveness of the national energy supply chain,” he said.

This initiative is projected to increase Dumai Port’s capacity as a regional energy distribution center, create more optimal logistics cost efficiency, open opportunities to expand Green Coke export volumes, and deliver a multiplier effect for the community through job creation, strengthening supporting industries, and maximizing the use of national infrastructure.

With the signing of this strategic partnership, PTK and PMT reaffirm their joint commitment to building a more modern, competitive, and internationally standardized energy logistics service, while strengthening national energy security and supporting Indonesia’s position as a global maritime hub.
