PTK Deploys 338 Support Vessels to Strengthen the Reliability of National Energy Distribution During the 2026 Christmas and New Year Period

PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) has affirmed its full readiness to support the smooth distribution of national energy ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year period by deploying 338 support vessels, consisting of tugboats and various other types of support ships. This fleet is prepared to ensure smooth berthing, loading and unloading operations, and the mobility of energy-transporting vessels at Indonesia’s strategic ports. This readiness reflects PTK’s commitment as a national maritime logistics company that plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of the energy supply chain.

As the provider of supporting vessels for the 2026 Christmas and New Year Operations, PTK ensures that each unit is prepared to assist the movement of large vessels, particularly tankers transporting fuel, LPG, crude oil, and other energy products. In addition, PTK is optimizing its port agency services, covering document processing, berthing coordination, and end-to-end vessel handling to maintain efficient maritime logistics in line with operational standards. The company has also prepared floating storage facilities as a supporting infrastructure to safeguard national energy stock and maintain supply flexibility during peak demand.

To support reliable energy distribution, PTK is enhancing fleet supervision through a digital, integrated internal control and monitoring center connected to the centralized Nataru Task Force command post. Through this system integration, PTK can monitor vessel movements in real time, ensuring distribution continuity, improving operational risk mitigation, and enabling rapid responses to potential weather changes and field dynamics. This digitalization further increases the efficiency of fuel and LPG distribution through improved data accuracy, faster analysis, and better cross-functional coordination.

PTK President Director, I Ketut Laba, emphasized that the readiness of the fleet reflects PTK’s strategic role in the national energy ecosystem. “The deployment of 338 support vessels demonstrates PTK’s commitment to maintaining smooth energy distribution operations, especially during high-intensity periods such as the Christmas and New Year season. We ensure all processes run safely, efficiently, and in accordance with HSSE standards. This initiative not only maintains the continuity of the national energy supply but also strengthens PTK’s business foundation through enhanced reliability of sustainable maritime services,” he said.

Meanwhile, PTK Vice President of Legal & Relations, Amran Reza, added that PTK’s role in the Christmas and New Year Operations is not only focused on technical operational aspects but also on strengthening governance and strategic relationships with stakeholders. “We ensure that all PTK services — from port operations and supporting vessels to the integrated monitoring system — are carried out with accountability and service certainty. By enhancing governance and operational effectiveness, PTK is able to deliver added value to the energy industry and reinforce our position as a trusted provider of maritime solutions,” Amran explained.

In anticipating potential extreme weather and increased vessel traffic towards the end of the year, PTK has mobilized its operational teams and internal task force to ensure comprehensive preparedness. Fleet unit inspections, personnel readiness, and technical coordination in the field have become top priorities to ensure all marine logistics activities operate optimally. These efforts not only guarantee reliable energy distribution during the Christmas and New Year period but also strengthen PTK’s capability to deliver adaptive and high-performance maritime services.

With the synergy of its support fleet, port services, floating storage infrastructure, digital monitoring, and personnel readiness, PTK further reinforces its position as a company capable of providing high-standard, professional maritime services that deliver added value to the national energy industry. This commitment represents PTK’s significant contribution to supporting Indonesia’s energy resilience while enhancing the competitiveness of national marine logistics.
